ANXIETY
Treating Anxiety using Hypnotherapy
Anxiety disorders are amongst the most common mental health conditions, thought to affect around 30% of us at some point during our lives.
As humans, we have evolved to protect ourselves. One of the ways we do that is through the ‘fight, flight or freeze’ reaction. Nowadays, for many of us, the system gets activated when there is no physical danger present. This could be as little as your boss asking you to day another task for the day. You end up internalising the feelings and may find yourself sitting at your desk, with your heart pounding and no idea how to make it stop.
Are you very easily triggered, or do you find you have a level of anxiety constantly throughout the day?
Anxiety feels different to everyone, however, common signs include:
overthinking or ruminating
headaches
chest pain
dizziness
difficulties sleeping or concentrating
faster breathing
nausea
fast or irregular heartbeat
teeth grinding
restlessness, feeling on-edge or wound-up
feeling irritable
Because anxiety is a normal part of life it can be difficult to recognise when it is becoming a problem. However, if you are experiencing strong feelings of anxiety or they are lasting for a long time, it can become exhausting and overwhelming.
Hypnotherapy can be an effective way of managing symptoms of anxiety. With research showing that a hypnotised brain experiences changes that give a person:
focused attention
greater physical and emotional control
less self-consciousness
Hypnotherapy for anxiety can help boost feelings of confidence and self-belief while reducing feelings of fear and intense worry. By helping you to identify the cause, reframe negative thoughts or beliefs, I can help you to reduce or get rid of symptoms or feelings of anxiety.
In using different hypnosis techniques, IEMT and NLP whilst accessing your subconscious mind I can help you promote positive change. The suggestions themselves can be tailored to help you learn what triggers your anxiety and why, as well as changing the way you react towards them.
In creating deeper levels of relaxation, stress reduces and symptoms of anxiety are alleviated.
